If you are looking for cheap comfort food in the city, Lisa's Dumplings is the definition of comfort. I never thought that I would want the same exact meal multiple times a day. . . until I tried these dumplings. Lisa's Dumplings is located underground near the subway. It is one of the restaurants apart of the Turnstyle Underground Market, and the amazing workers make fresh dumplings every single day.
Regarding the dumplings, they are big, juicy, and filled with absolute incredibleness. The dough is perfectly chewy and pan-fried (even though there is a steamed option that you can choose, instead). As for the filling, it is a generous serving and melts in your mouth. If you have a little extra money, buy the chili oil ($1 extra). You will have the perfect bite (softness from the dough, flavor from the filling, and a little hint of spice from the oil). . . quite delectable.
